Brazilian Music for Haiyan Relief

On Thursday, December 12, world-class Brazilian music players and fans of Brazilian music will be gathering for a concert at Mt. Tabor Church to benefit the relief work in the areas of the Philippines most affected by Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. Joining a local task force, PDX Relief, this group of excellent musicians are lending their talents to a worthy cause.

The concert will feature: Bloco Alegria, Portland’s newest Rio style samba band, playing the heart-pumping rhythms of Rio’s carnaval parades is what gives this band its unique sound and vibrancy. Also featured are The Brazillionaires, this Portland trio plays the sultry, pyrotechnic early jazz of Brazil called ‘choro’. Noted artists Buzz Holland, POPgoji and Joe Fortunato will also perform.

$10-$20 sliding scale admissions. All proceeds go toward PDX Relief for NAFCON Bayanihan Relief and Rehabilitation in the Philippines
